Consumer GuideEdmunds.comLeast Liked
To some buyers, absence of a regular cab, longer beds, and heavier-duty models are shortcomings.
Comparison
This Japanese automaker's Mississippi-built Titan competes in size and power with Ford, General Motors, and Dodge rivals.
New Car Test DriveMost Liked
The transmission features a tow/haul mode that works together with the engine's electronic throttle control to provide a smooth power curve and seamless shifts under load. A tightly controlled ride and a gutsy engine make the Titan feel smaller than you might think. The five-speed transmission keeps the engine in the heart of its power band for strong acceleration that rivals any of its competitors.
Model ReviewsLeast Liked
Nissan has made no effort to match the staggering mix of options in engine, transmissions, body styles and accessories that greet, say, a Ford pickup buyer. So you'll have to look elsewhere if you want a big duallie or a cheap, V6-powered regular cab.
Most Liked
Big square-shaped fender flares give it a look of rugged sportiness. The Titan boasts best in class headroom; best in class torque; best in class interior volume (for the Crew Cab); best 4x4 ground clearance; best 4x4 approach angle; largest in class 4x4 tires.Titan boasts clever innovations that improve on the traditional pickup bed, such as the factory-applied spray-in bedliner and a C-channel tie-down system.
The Nissan Titan is a serious, full-size pickup truck designed for work and play. It is available in both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations, with two body styles - extended (King) Cab and Crew Cab. The Titan is offered in four trim levels: XE, SE, PRO-4X and LE. All are powered by a 317-hp 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine, mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with Tow/Haul mode. Safety features include active front head restraints, dual front airbags, anti-lock disc brakes and a tire pressure monitoring system. Standard equipment changes for all of the 2010 models include side curtain airbags, panic brake assist, and electronic stability control. The PRO-4X also receives standard hands free Bluetooth wireless connectivity. For 2010, the Nissan Titan combines both value and simplicity by streamlining its availability allowing it to be easier to order. New option packages are available to add even more features to each Titan model.
